Bloodstock agent Dean Hawthorne (acting for Victorian client Jonathan Munz) paid top price of NZ$775,000 for a filly by former Coolmore-owned Cambridge Stud shuttler Stravinsky (the 2nd foal out of 7YO Zabeel mare Diamond Smile) during yesterday's closing session at the 2-day Premier Section (followed by the 3-day Select Section & then 2-day Festival Section) of the NZ Bloodstock National Yearling Sales Series at Karaka in Auckland. The filly was consigned by Cambridge Stud & her dam Diamond Smile is: a full-sister to Gr1-winning sire Don Eduardo & Gr2-winner Peruzzi (dam of stakes-winner Lucida); & a 3/4-sister to Australian Horse-Of-The-Year & 10-times Gr1-winning former Woodlands & now Darley sire Octagonal, Gr1-winner Mouawad, Gr1-winner Shower Of Roses, dual Gr1-winner Tristalove (dam of Gr1-winning sire Viking Ruler, Gr2-winner & dual Gr1-placed Kempinsky, stakes-winner & Gr1-placed Diamond Like & stakes-winner & Gr1-placed Lovetrista) & dual stakes-winner Antwerp (dam of multiple Gr1-winning former Woodlands & now Darley sire Viscount & stakes-winner Helsinborg).
