7 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong yesterday, 7 Australian-bred gallopers scored at Sha Tin in the final meeting of the 2008-09 season (click on the horse name to watch each race):

  • 5YO gelding Be My Song (Umatilla-Honest To Goodness, by Jugah) won over 1200m for trainer Michael Chang. Be My Song was an $85,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne.
  • 3YO gelding Algarve (Encosta De Lago-Onassis, by Lion Cavern) won over 1600m for Australian trainer David Hall. Algarve was a $400,000 yearling at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 3YO gelding Telecom Gogo (Danewin-Barawin, by Barathea) won over 1400m for trainer Caspar Fownes. Telecom Gogo was passed-in for $150,000 as a yearling at the 2007 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 3YO gelding Amigo (Giant's Causeway-Lucrative Dame, by Zeditave) won over 1200m for trainer Michael Chang. Amigo was a NZ$170,000 yearling consigned by Curraghmore at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka.
  • 4YO gelding Deferential (Royal Academy-Talent Time, by Quest For Fame) won over 1200m for trainer Caspar Fownes.
  • 4YO gelding Street Cat (Tale Of The Cat-Yeah Baby, by Anabaa) won over 1600m for trainer tony Millard. Street Cat was a $70,000 yearling consigned from Glastonbury Farms at the 2006 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale.
  • 4YO gelding Fortune Haven (Dehere-Keltshaan, by Pleasant Colony) won over 1400m for Australian trainer John Moore. Fortune Haven was a $250,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
