US Gr1-Winner Street Hero Shuttles To Makybe
US Gr1-winning 3YO colt Street Hero (Street Cry-Squall Linda, by Summer Squall) "who stood his 1st season at Dr Tom Simon's Vinery in Lexington this year, will shuttle to Tony Santic's Makybe in Victoria for the upcoming Southern Hemisphere breeding season," reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Vinery general manager Tom Ludt commented: "Street Hero was a very talented racehorse, he's an attractive individual & from a good family. You add the international appeal of Street Cry (former Darley shuttler & Gr1 Dubai World Cup winner) to the mix & we think this could be a very good opportunity for this young stallion." Makybe stud manager Scott Holcombe confirmed the farm has "purchased an interest" in Street Hero (rated 4th top 2YO on the US 2008 Experimental Free Handicap). Street Hero (bred, owned & trained by Myung Kwon Cho) recorded placings in all 6 of his career starts during 2008, including victory in the Gr1 Norfolk Breeders' Cup Stakes (8.5 furlongs on all-weather) at Santa Anita, plus 3rd in both the Gr1 Del Mar Futurity (7 furlongs on all-weather) & Gr1 Breeders' Cup Juvenile (8.5 furlongs on all-weather) at Santa Anita. He stood his initial season in Kentucky at US$12,500.
