Friday, 3rd July 2009

In the US, leading US stallion Rahy "has been pensioned from stallion duty due to declining fertility. The 24-year-old stallion will stay at Three Chimneys throughout his retirement," reports bloodhorse.com. A US$2 million yearling purchased by Sheikh Maktoum, Rahy was trained in Europe by Sir Michael Stout where he was "named champion 2-year-old in France in 1987, and champion 3-year-old colt in France and England in 1988." A graded stakes-winner in the US as a 4YO when trained by Neil Drysdale, Rahy has sired 84 individual stakes winners including Darley champions Fantastic Light & Noverre, Serena's Song, Dreaming of Anna & Dancing Forever.
