Godolphin Buys Guineas Runner-Up Delegator
Meanwhile exciting 3YO colt Delegator (Dansili-Indian Love Bird, by Efisio), who finished runner-up in both the Gr1 English 2,000 Guineas and Gr1 St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, "has been purchased for an undisclosed sum by Godolphin," reports racingpost.com. This follows Godolphin's acquisition earlier in the week of Evasive from Cheveley Park Stud. Plans for Delegator's racing future remain up in the air, with Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford, stating, "Delegator is top class and were are very excited to have bought him. There are no plans at the moment but we will look forward to seeing him racing later in the season and next year as well." Delegator is rated a $15 chance by betchoice.com.au for this week's Gr1 Darley July Cup at Newmarket where the market is currently headed by Australian raider Scenic Blast.
