Jade Hunter Calls It A Day

US-based former Woodlands Stud shuttler Jade Hunter (Mr Prospector-Jadana, by Pharly) has been retired from stud duty. Among his leading progeny were 2002 Horse of the Year Azeri who earned over US$4 million. He is also the sire of Procrastinate, one of Australia's highest profile broodmares. A US$700,000 yearling purchase by Darley Stud at the 1985 Keeneland July Sale (now defunct), on the track Jade Hunter won the Gr1 Donn Handicap & Gr1 Gulfstream Park Handicap, both at Gulfstream Park. According to bloodhorse.com, "Jade Hunter will be paddocked near Polish Navy and Glitterman," at the specialist stallion retirement property Old Friends.
