More Than Ready To Cover Makybe Diva

Monday, 13th July 2009

Former champion racemare Makybe Diva (Desert King-Tugela, by Riverman) will be served this breeding season by Vinery's boom stallion More Than Ready, whose juveniles have been dominant over the past few seasons. Triple Gr1 Melbourne Cup winner Makybe Diva, who's first son by Galileo was presented and sold by Makybe for $1.5m at this year's Sydney Easter Premier Yearling Sale, has a chestnut weanling filly by Fusiachi Pegasus and is currently in foal to Encosta de Lago. Of the planned mating, Vinery general manager Peter Orton said, "We are delighted Maybe Diva has been booked to be covered by More Than Ready this coming season; she has obviously been one of the great race mares of the Australian turf and is now set to begin her own dynasty as a producer of great racehorses as well. The mating offers an ideal mix of pedigree, performance and most importantly a perfect physical match."
