Another retirement in the US is that of Irish-bred stallion Black Tie Affair (Miswaki-Tab Girl, by Al Hattab), reports thoroughbredtimes.com. Now a 23YO, the 1991 US Horse of the Year, has spent the past 5 seasons at O'Sullivan Farms in West Virginia. Prior to that he had spent 5 years at Japan's East Stud after initially beginning his stud career at Vinery Kentucky in 1992. A multiple Gr1 winner, Black Tie Affair won 18 of his 45 starts for US$$3,370,694 earnings. His leading progeny among 35 stakes-winners sired include Gr1-winning duo Evening Attire & Formal Gold.
