Battlefield Wins Ramornie Handicap

Former star Australian sprinter & Gr1-winning Coolmore shuttler Choisir (Danehill Dancer-Great Selection, by Lunchtime) added a black-type success when fancied 3YO gelding Battlefield (Choisir-Charming Charge, by Rory's Jester) won the $75,000 Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m) at Grafton on the NSW north coast. Battlefield (ridden by Daniel Ganderton for trainer Paul Messara) defeated 7YO gelding Forestreno (Shinko Forest-Santreno Lass, by Pride Of Karioi) & 4YO gelding Attackum (Pins-Macarena, by Kaapstad). Battlefield (a $300,000 yearling consigned by Glentree Downs at the 2007 Inglis Premier Sale in Melbourne) is now undefeated from his last 4 starts with 5 career wins (including the $75,000 Listed Ascot Handicap over 1200m at Eagle Farm in Brisbane on July 4) & a placing from 7 starts for $203,050 earnings.
