Sea The Stars Ruled Out Of King George

Thursday, 16th July 2009

In the UK, trainer John Ox has definitively declared brilliant colt Sea The Stars a non-starter in the Gr1 King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot in 10 days time, according to racingpost.com. The headline-grabbing colt, currently considered the best racehorse on the planet & with a value of somewhere around A$100 million, will instead tackle the Gr1 Juddmonte International at York on August 18. The decision was made after Oxx conferred with owner Christopher Tsui. Looking beyond the Juddmonte, Oxx commented: "The plan is to look then at the Tattersalls Millions Irish Champion Stakes in Leopardstown, but everything will be ground dependent once the horse is well."
