Strong Hope To Stand At Winding Oaks Farm

Kentucky-based 9YO stallion Strong Hope (Grand Slam-Shining Through, by Deputy Minister) has been relocated from Claiborne Farm to stand at stud at Eugene Melnyk's Winding Oaks Farm in Ocala, Florida, reports bloodhorse.com. A multiple Gr2 winner, Strong Hope had 6 career wins (including 2003's Gr2 Belmont Dwyer stakes & the Gr2 Saratoga Jim Dandy stakes) & 3 placings (including 2003's Gr1 Travers stakes, 2004's Gr1 Aqueduct Carter handicap & Gr1 Belmont Metropolitan handicap) from 11 starts for US$767,460 earnings. From two crops of racing age, Strong Hope has sired 24 winners from 49 starters, with total progeny earnings of US$677,269 including stakes-winning 3YO filly Trophy Collector (winner of the Listed Colonial Oakley stakes & placed in the Gr3 Pimlico Miss Preakness stakes) plus stakes-placed Donttellmewhattodo (2-time winner & placed in the Listed Calder Leave Me Alone stakes). Strong Hope stood the 2009 season at Claiborne Farm for US$15,000. His fee for the 2010 breeding season has not been announced.
