3rd Winner For Freshman Sire Fomalhaut

Victoria's Whittlesea-based Mornmoot Stud freshman sire Fomalhaut (Spinning World-Coup De Folie, by Halo) sired his 3rd juvenile winner of the season when 1st crop son 2YO gelding Real Gentleman (Fomalhaut-Explosive, by Bureaucracy) won over 1100m at Selangor in Malaysia. Fomalhaut, a stakes placed half-brother to Gr1 winners and sires Machiavellian and Exit To Nowhere, is from the family of Danehill and Northern Dancer. Standing at Robert Thompson's Mornmoot Stud at Whittlesea for a fee of $5,500, he has now sired 3 winners and 4 placed runners from just 10 starters. His other winners include 2YO filly Fomalite (Fomalhaut-White Water Bay, by River Rough), twice city placed and a winner at Bendigo from 3 starts, & 2YO filly Lunar Gold (Fomalhaut-Sneak Previews, by What A Guest), a winner at Sale from 2 starts. Trained by Kok Hoong Ng for owner Sook Kian Chong, Real Gentleman (a $3,000 yearling at the 2008 Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale & subsequently a $24,000 2YO at the 2008 Magic Millions Queensland Horses-In-Training Sale) now has 1 win from 2 starts. He was 4th on debut in Malaysia last month over 1100m.
