Alfred Nobel Wins Irish Gr1 Phoenix Stakes

In Ireland overnight, Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a juvenile Gr1 trifecta when his colt Alfred Nobel (Danehill Dancer-Glinting Desert, by Desert Prince) scored a half-length victory in the €225,000 (A$383,000) Gr1 Phoenix Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YOs at The Curragh. Alfred Nobel (ridden by Johnny Murtagh for trainer Aidan O'Brien) defeated fellow colt & stable-mate Air Chief Marshal (Danehill Dancer-Hawala, by Warning) & the filly Walk On Bye (Danehill Dancer-Pipalong, by Pips Pride). Last month Alfred Nobel also won Ireland's Gr2 Railway Stakes (6 furlongs) at The Curragh & overall now has 2 wins & 2 placings from 5 starts.
