Brahms Adds Canada Black-Type

In Canada, former Vinery shuttler Brahms (Danzig-Queens, by Mr Prospector) added a black-type success when 6YO gelding Test Boy (Brahms-Soundproof, by Ela-Mana-Mou) scored a half-length victory in the C$50,000 Listed Don Fleming Handicap (8.5 furlongs) at Northlands Park to win this race for the 3rd consecutive year. Test Boy (ridden by Rickey Walcott for trainer Robertino Diodoro) defeated fellow 6YO gelding Bank Emblem (Victory Gallop-Bank Connection, by Water Bank) & 4YO gelding Zuri Mwana (Valid Wager-Epi Tombe, by Chief's Crown). Test Boy took his overall record to 9 wins (also including 2008's Listed Speed To Spare Stakes over 11 furlongs at Northlands Park, plus 2007's Listed Teeworth Plate Handicap over 8 furlongs at Stampede Park & 2005's US Listed Centennial Stakes over 8 furlongs at Remington Park) & 13 placings (including last start's Listed Spangled Jimmy Handicap over 8 furlongs at Northlands Park on July 4, plus 2008's Westerner Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Northlands Park, Listed Herald Gold Plate Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Stampede Park & Listed Teeworth Plate Handicap over 8 furlongs at Stampede Park, as well as 2007's Listed Speed To Spare Stakes over 11 furlongs at Northlands Park, Listed Spangled Jimmy Handicap over 8 furlongs at Northlands Park & Listed Herald Gold Plate Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Stampede Park, in addition to 2005's US Listed Harrah's Juvenile Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Louisiana Downs) from 28 starts for C$393,914 earnings.
