In South Africa, 4YO gelding Ivory Trail (Badger's Drift-Hunter's Glen, by Complete Warrior) scored in a 3-way photo finish to the R750,000 (A$118,320) Gr1 Champions Cup (1800m) at Clairwood in Durban. Ivory Trail (ridden by R. Danielson for trainer Joey Ramsden) defeated South Africa's Horse of the Year, 6YO gelding Pocket Power (Jet Master-Stormsvlei, by Prince Florimund) & 5YO gelding Buy And Sell (National Emblem-Trade Enquiry, by Qui Danzig). Ivory Trail took his record to 8 wins (also including January's Gr2 Peninsula Handicap over 1800m at Kenilworth, plus 2008's Listed Memorial Mile over 1600m at Fairview & 2007's Gr3 The Langerman over 1500m at Kenilworth) & 6 placings from 21 starts.
