Jade Robbery Adds UK Gr2

In the UK, former Widden Stud shuttler Jade Robbery (Mr Prospector-Number, by Nijinsky) added a group success when Irish-bred 5YO entire Kirklees (Jade Robbery-Moyesii, by Diesis) scored by 1.25-lengths in the £100,000 (A$200,890) Gr2 York Stakes (10 furlongs on turf) for 3YOs & up at York. Kirklees (ridden by Frankie Dettori for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor) defeated 4YO entire Allied Powers (Invincible Spirit-Always Friendly, by High Line) & 5YO gelding Kings Gambit (Silvano-Lady Brompton, by Al Mufti). At his previous start, Kirklees also won the Listed Gala Stakes (10 furlongs) at Sandown Park on July 3 & overall now has 7 wins (also including 2007's UK Listed Foundation Stakes over 10 furlongs at Goodwood, plus 2006's Italian Gr1 Gran Criterium over 1600m at San Siro) & 6 placings (including January's UAE Gr3 Al Rashidiya over 1800m at Nad Al Sheba in Dubai, plus 2008's UK Gr3 Darley Stakes over 9 furlongs at Newmarket & Listed James Seymour Stakes over 10 furlongs at Newmarket, as well as 2006's UK Gr2 Royal Lodge Stakes over 8 furlongs at Ascot & Gr2 Vintage Stakes over 7 furlongs at Goodwood) from 16 starts for £419,148 (A$853,000) earnings.
