Pressing Wins German Gr1 Dallmayr

In Germany overnight, former NZ Haunui Stud shuttler Soviet Star (Nureyev-Veruschka, by Venture) added a Gr1 triumph when Italian-bred & UK-trained 6YO entire Pressing (Soviet Star-Rafif, by Riverman) scored a 0.75-length victory in the €155,000 (A$264,000) Gr1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis Bayerisches Zuchtrennen (2000m) at Munich (after finishing runner-up in this race last year). Pressing (ridden by Neil Callan for trainer Michael Jarvis) defeated 4YO entire Precious Boy (Big Shuffle-Pretty Su, by Surumu) & French-bred 4YO entire Trincot (Peintre Celebre-Royal Lights, by Royal Academy). Previously this season Pressing also won Italy's Gr2 Premio Emilio Turati (1600m) at San Siro in Milan in May. Last year Pressing won Italy's Gr2 Premio Ribot (1600m) at the Capannelle in Rome & Turkey's Gr2 Topkapi Trophy (1600m) at Veliefendi, as well as finishing runner-up in both Germany's Gr1 Grosser Dallmayr-Preis Bayerisches Zuchtrennen (2000m) at Munich & Italy's Gr1 Premio Presidente Della Repubblica (2000m) at the Capannelle. During 2007 Pressing won Italy's Gr1 Premio Roma (2000m) at the Capannelle, Gr3 Premio Federico Tesio (2200m) at San Siro & Gr3 Premio Ambrosiano (2000m) at San Siro, plus runner-up in the Gr1 Premio Presidente Della Repubblica (200m) at the Capannelle. During 2006 Pressing placed in Italy's Listed Gran Premio D'Italia (2000m) at San Siro & Listed Premio Emanuele Filiberto (2000m) at San Siro. And as a juvenile in 2005, Pressing placed in Italy's Listed Premio Vittorio Riva (1600m) at San Siro & Listed Premio Giuseppe De Montel (1500m) at San Siro.
