Hessees Buy Kilkerry Farm In Arkansas

Friday, 31st July 2009

Richard & Frances Hessee (owners of R&R Farms in Texas) have purchased trainer Robert Holthus' Kilkerry Farm & Training Center in Arkansas, reported bloodhorse.com. The Hessees "plan to use the 138-acre farm (which had been in the Holthus family for 40 years) as a training center & place to board stock" (for other trainers during the Oaklawn Park meeting). Horses broken & trained at Kilkerry include champion Lawyer Ron & Gr1-winner Proper Reality (both trained by Holthus). Richard Hessee noted: "We'll be boarding mares & will relocate the stallion Morluc to the farm. We also plan to be breeding mares in Arkansas. The Arkansas breeding program is better than the Texas program."
