8 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong yesterday, 8 Australian-bred gallopers won on the 10-race card at Sha Tin (click on the horse name to watch each race):

  • 4YO gelding Taverner (Flying Spur-Atom Angel, by Defensive Play) won over 1000m for Australian trainer David Hall. Taverner was a $170,000 yearling at the 2007 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
  • 9YO gelding Jolly Good Fortune (Danzig Connection-Aptitude, by Salieri) won over 1200m for trainer Francis Lui. Jolly Good Fortune was passed-in for $47,000 as a yearling at the 2002 Magic Millions Adelaide Sale.
  • 3YO entire Penglai Xianzi (Encosta de Lago-Isle Of Gibraltar, by Danehill) won over 1400m for trainer Tony Cruz. Penglai Xianzi was a $300,000 yearling at the 2008 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
  • 9YO gelding High Intelligent (Anabaa-Party Dancer, by Party Leader) won over 1400m for trainer Tony Millard.
  • 6YO gelding Lucky Red (Shagny-Tylin, by Dolphin Street) won over 1000m for trainer Gary Ng.
  • 6YO gelding Classic Reunion (Fusaichi Pegasus-Rose Of Danehill, by Danehill) won over 1600m for expatriate Australian trainer John Moore. Classic Reunion was a $200,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
  • 8YO gelding Century Super Star (Last Tycoon-Valeniski, by Niniski) won over for 1200m trainer Andreas Schutz.
  • 5YO gelding Fleet Command (Secret Savings-Viator, by Snaadee) won over 1400m for trainer David Ferraris. Fleet Command was a $70,000 yearling at the 2006 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
