Hawkesbury Stalwart Ted McCabe Dies

Former Hawkesbury Race Club & NSW Provincial Race Clubs Association chairman Ted McCabe has died after a battle with cancer. McCabe was a Hawkesbury member for 44 years & chairman for 17 years, as well as serving as an inaugural member of the NSW Racing Consultation Group. In the 1980s he developed the Belmont Park-Coolamon Park agistment & pre-training properties on the Hawkesbury River at North Richmond west of Sydney, purchased by the Ingham family in 1987 & subsequently passed on to Darley (for whom McCabe remained on the management team).
