Irish Yearlings Day-2: $527k Galileo Filly

Thursday, 1st October 2009

BBA Ireland's Adrian Nicoll paid €310,00 (A$527,000) for a filly by former Coolmore shuttler & Gr1 English Derby winner Galileo (the 1st foal out of Gr2-winning Bluebird mare Jewel In The Sand) consigned from Croom House Stud. Nicoll told racingpost.com: "I've bought her on behalf of a partnership being put together by Ben Sangster, which is going to buy several top fillies. She's going to be trained by David Wachman. This filly was a really good sort, out of a very good racemare & by a top class stallion. I thought she was quite reasonable value too. I've bought Ben 2 Galileo fillies here in the past - Dress Rehearsal & Paris Winds - and both have gone on to make up into stakes-winners."
