Tuesday, 6th October 2009

Coolmore shuttler Danehill Dancer (Danehill-Mira Adonde, by Sharpen Up) added a French group success when Irish-bred 3YO filly Tamazirte (Danehill Dancer-Tanami Desert, by Lycius) scored a 1-length victory against older rivals in the €130,000 (A$221,000) Gr2 Prix Daniel Wildenstein (1600m) at Longchamp. Tamazirte (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer Jean-Claude Rouget) defeated US-bred 4YO mare Danse Grecque (Hold That Tiger-Distorted Blaze, by Distorted Humor) & 4YO entire Murcielago (Spinning World-So Long Girl, by Selkirk). Tamazirte was a €40,000 (A$68,000) 2YO at the 2008 Arqana April Sale; overall she now has 4 wins (also including April's French Gr3 Prix De La Grotte over 1600m at Longchamp) & 3 placings (including runner-up in both June's French Gr1 Prix De Diane over 2100m at Chantilly & May's Gr1 Poule D'Essai Des Pouliches-1000 Guineas over 1600m at Longchamp) from 8 starts for €415,120 (A$690,000) earnings.
