Tuesday, 6th October 2009

Gr1-winning Coolmore stallion Fastnet Rock (Danehill-Piccadilly Circus, by Royal Academy) added a juvenile black-type success when daughter Gybe (Fastnet Rock-Great Notice, by Nureyev) scored by a short-head in the $100,000 Listed Gimcrack Stakes (1000m) for 2YO fillies at Randwick. Gybe (ridden by Tim Clark for trainer Anthony Cummings) defeated Mafia Miss (Mossman-Omerta Blue, by Sunday Silence) & So Detached (One Cool Cat-Voltdanze, by Danzero). Gybe (a $100,000 yearling consigned from Oakwood Farm at the 2009 Magic Millions January Sale on the Gold Coast) earned $60,000 for her initial victory.
