Light Vision Wins The Bart Cummings

Former Westbury Stud sire Zerpour (Darshaan-Zerzaya, by Beldale Flutter) added a black-type success when favoured 6YO gelding Light Vision (Zerpour-Switches, by Naturalism) scored by a long-head in the $150,000 Listed The Bart Cummings (2500m) at Flemington to win this race for the 2nd successive year. Light Vision (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer Robert Smerdon) defeated 4YO mare Miss Darcey (Hussonet-Miss Bussell, by Danzero) & 5YO gelding Zacroona (Zabeel-Singalong, by Danasinga). Light Vision now has 11 wins (also including 2008's Listed The Bart Cummings over 2520m at Flemington) & 10 placings (including last start's Gr3 Naturalism Stakes over 2000m at Caulfield on September 19, plus April's Gr3 Easter Cup over 2000m at Caulfield & 2008's Gr3 Saab Quality Handicap over 2500m at Flemington) from 37 starts for $616,310 earnings.
