Kitchwin Hills stallion Dane Shadow (Danehill-Slight Chance, by Centaine) added a group success (& 3rd-placing) when his colt Shellscrape (Dane Shadow-Kisma, by Snippets) raced away for a 4.25-lengths victory in the $150,000 Gr2 Inglis Insurance Roman Consul Stakes (1200m) for 3YOs at Randwick. Shellscrape (ridden by Blake Shinn for trainer Chris Waller) defeated the geldings Honest Truth (Hussonet-Straight Lake, by Salt Lake) & Shadow Assassin (Dane Shadow-Mascara Magic, by Citidancer). Shellscrape (a $40,000 weanling consigned from Kitchwin Hills at the 2007 Magic Millions National Sale) now has 5 wins (also including August's Gr3 San Domenico Stakes over 1000m at Royal Randwick & June's Listed Australia Post Bicentennial Stakes over 1400m at Eagle Farm) & 6 placings (including August's Gr3 Up And Coming Stakes over 1200m at Randwick) from 13 starts for $427,200 earnings.
