Vosne Romanee Wins NZ Gr1 Kelt Capital

In New Zealand, stallion Electronic Zone (Rahy-La Griffe, by Prince John) added a Gr1 triumph when favoured 7YO gelding Vosne Romanee (Electronic Zone-Madison Avenue, by Morcon) scored a 0.75-length victory in the NZ$1.2 million weight-for-age Gr1 Kelt Capital Stakes (2040m) at Hastings. Vosne Romanee (ridden by Buddy Lammas for trainer Jeff Lynds) defeated 6YO gelding Ginga Dude (Istidaad-Clatitude, by Clay Hero) & 5YO mare Miss Maren (Stravinsky-Deebee Lady, by Brilliant Invader). Vosne Romanee (passed-in for NZ$13,000 as a yearling at the 2004 NZ Bloodstock Summer Sale) took his record to 7 wins (also including 2008's Listed Rangitikei Gold Cup over 1600m at Awapuni) & 9 placings (including April's Gr3 Hawkes Bay Gold Cup over 2200m at Hastings & March's Gr3 Thompson Handicap over 1600m at Trentham, plus 2008's Gr2 Coupland's Bakeries Mile over 1600m at Riccarton Park & Listed Kelt Memorial Stakes over 1400m at Hastings) from 25 starts for NZ$962,200 earnings.
