Maryland Yearlings Day-2: US$300k Harlan's Holiday Colt
Meanwhile in the US auction ring, Francis Vanlangendonck from Summerfield sales agency (acting for Florida pin-hooker Nick De Meric) paid top price of US$300,000 for a colt by Harlan's Holiday (the 1st foal out of unraced 5YO Yankee Victor mare Keep It Going) during the closing session of the 2-day Fasig-Tipton Eastern Fall Yearling Sale at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. The Kentucky-bred colt (consigned by Paramount Sales as agent for Gerry Dilger's Dromoland Farm) previously sold for US$150,000 as a weanling at the 2008 Keeneland November Sale. De Meric told bloodhorse.com he had purchased the yearling for Seth Klarman's LRK Stables & the plan now "is to prepare the colt for racing, instead of selling him at a sale of 2YOs-in-training, but we like to keep all our options open."
