Owner Ponders Irish Stud For Sea The Stars
In Europe, Christopher Tsui - who owns last weekend's French Gr1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe victor Sea The Stars (Cape Cross-Urban Sea, by Miswaki) - announced his family does not plan to sell this season's "priceless" 6-time Gr1-winning boom 3YO colt, reported racingpost.com. Tsui confirmed "significant Japanese interest" but emophasised: "We are not looking to sell the horse. We have had offers coming for him all the time & from everywhere, but for now we are not interested." Tsui also denied he may buy his own stud to stand Sea The Stars & hinted: "I think there is a chance that Sea The Stars might stay in Ireland." Meanwhile US Breeders' Cup chief executive Greg Avioli "predicted Sea The Stars would add 10,000 to the crowd & US$10 million to betting turnover if he were to end his career in next month's US Gr1 Breeders' Cup Classic", a prospect which owner Tsui commented was "50-50" at this stage. Avioli declared: "Americans love a champion & when his trainer John Oxx refers to Sea The Stars as the Usain Bolt of horseracing, our fans can relate to that."
