UK Tatts Yearlings Day-3: $1.33m Oasis Dream Colt
Coolmore principal John Magnier out-bid Sir Robert Ogden (standing with his agent John Warren) to pay top price of 700,000 guineas (A$1.33m) for a colt by Oasis Dream (out of Sadler's Wells mare Maganda) during the 3rd session overnight at Europe's premier yearling auction, the UK Tattersalls October Sale Book 1. The colt was consigned by Oakgrove Stud in Wales, whose owner John Deer acquired the colt's dam Maganda for 320,000 guineas (A$608,000) at the 2007 Tattersalls December Mare Sale (where she was part of the Haras de Bouquetot partial dispersal). Magnier told racingpost.com: "I'd imagine he'll be going to Ballydoyle & race for the usual partnership. Paul Shanahan & Demi O'Byrne liked the horse & that was it really."
