Monday, 12th October 2009

Flagship Arrowfield Stud stallion & former Australian champion sire Redoute's Choice (Danehill-Shantha's Choice, by Canny Lad) added Gr1 triumph when 4YO mare Allez Wonder (Redoute's Choice-Luna Tudor, by Military Plume) gained the judge's decision in a 3-way photo-finish to the $350,000 Gr1 Toorak Handicap (1600m) at Caulfield. Allez Wonder (ridden by Michelle Payne for trainer Bart Cummings) scored by a long-neck from 6YO gelding Gold Salute (Testa Rossa-Gold Sarah, by Catrail) with a further short-halfhead to 4YO gelding Rock Kingdom (Rock Of Gibraltar-Happy Empress, by St Covet). Allez Wonder (a $600,000 yearling at the 2007 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale at Karaka) took her record to 3 wins (also including March's Listed Keith Nolan Classic over 1600m at Kembla Grange) & a placing (in 2008's Gr1 Crown Oaks over 2500m at Flemington) from 10 starts for $201,150 earnings.
