Court Vision Wins US Gr1 Shadwell Turf Mile

The 4YO entire Court Vision (Gulch-Weekend Storm, by Storm Bird) snatched victory by a nose in the US$600,000 Gr1 Shadwell Turf Mile Stakes (8 furlongs on turf) at Keeneland in Kentucky. Court Vision (ridden by Robby Albarado for trainer Richard Dutrow) defeated front-running 7YO gelding Karelian (Bertrando-Leaning Tower, by Theatrical) & 5YO entire Mr Sidney (Storm Cat-Tomisue's Delight, by A.P.Indy). Kentucky-bred Court Vision (originally a US$180,000 yearling at the 2006 Keeneland September Sale & subsequently a US$350,000 2YO at the 2007 Fasig-Tipton February Florida Sale) took his record to 6 wins (also including 2008's Gr1 Hollywood Derby over 10 furlongs at Hollywood Park & Gr2 Jamaica Handicap over 9 furlongs at Belmont Park, plus 2007's Gr2 Remsen Stakes over 9 furlongs at Aqueduct & Gr3 Iroquois Stakes over 8 furlongs at Churchill Downs) & 6 placings (including May's Gr1 Woodford Reserve Turf Classic Stakes over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs & February's Gr1 Gulfstream Park Turf Handicap over 9 furlongs at Gulfstream Park, plus 2008's Gr1 Wood Memorial Stakes over 9 furlongs at Aqueduct, Gr2 Virginia Derby over 10 furlongs at Colonial Downs & Gr2 Fountain Of Youth Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Gulfstream Park) from 18 starts for US$1,477,430 earnings.
