Lucky Secret Wins Schillaci Stakes

Deceased Blue Gum Farm stallion Rubiton (Century-Ruby, by Seventh Hussar) added a group success when 6YO gelding Lucky Secret (Rubiton-Won't Tell, by Rory's Jester) set a new track record with a 2.25-lengths victory in the $200,000 weight-for-age Gr2 Schillaci Stakes (1000m) at Caulfield. Lucky Secret (ridden by Nash Rawiller for trainer Tony Vasil) clocked 55.97sec in defeating multiple Gr1-winning & favoured 7YO gelding Apache Cat (Lion Cavern-Tennessee Blaze, by Whiskey Road) & 3YO colt Wanted (Fastnet Rock-Fragmentation, by Snippets). Lucky Secret (a $220,000 yearling at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney) now has 13 wins (also including September's Listed Starlight Stakes over 1100m at Rosehill & January's Gr2 Carlyon Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley, plus 2008's Gr2 Schweppes Stakes over 1200m at Moonee Valley & 2007's Listed Sir John Monash Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield) & 4 placings (including February's Gr1 Oakleigh Plate over 1100m at Caulfield & January's Gr3 Rubiton Stakes over 1100m at Caulfield, plus 2008's Gr2 Schillaci Stakes over 1000m at Caulfield & Gr3 McEwen Stakes over 1000m at Moonee Valley) from 21 starts for $889,650 earnings.
