In New Zealand, deceased former Grangewilliam Stud stallion Al Akbar (Success Express-Gala Night, by Blakeny) added a group success when 6YO mare O'Ceirins Angel (Al Akbar-Cadell, by Yachtie) scored a 1-length victory in the NZ$80,000 weight-for-age Listed Postponed Classic (1400m) for fillies & mares at Hawera to take this race for the 2nd successive year. O'Ceirins Angel (ridden by Buddy Lammas for trainer Sandie Cookson) defeated favoured fellow 6YO mare Culminate (Elnadim-Solstice, by Marceau) & 5YO mare Pennacchio (Align-Abenezra, by Rory's Jester).
