Monday, 12th October 2009

Coolmore's European champion & former NZ Cambridge Stud shuttler One Cool Cat (Storm Cat-Tacha, by Mr Prospector) also added a UK juvenile black-type success when Irish-bred gelding Layla's Hero (One Cool Cat-Capua, by Private Terms) scored a 2.25-lengths victory in the £30,000 (A$54,000) Listed Rockingham Stakes (6 furlongs) for 2YOs at York. Layla's Hero (ridden by Eddie Ahern for trainer David Nicholls) defeated Irish-bred filly Coolminx (One Cool Cat-Greta D'argent, by Great Commotion) & the colt Never The Waiter (Kyllachy-Talighta, by Barathea). Layla's Hero was a £9,000 (A$16,000) yearling at the 2008 Doncaster August Sale. Overall he now has 4 wins & a runner-up from 7 starts for £53,141 (A$97,000) earnings.
