Inglis-HTBA Scone Yearling Sale Extended To 2 Days

Wednesday, 14th October 2009

Inglis announced the Hunter Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Scone Yearling Sale (a joint venture between the HTBA & Inglis) has been extended to 2 days beginning next year "on the back of strong support from vendors": a Select session on Thursday May 13 (a day prior to the Scone Cup & Inglis Guineas) & a General session on Sunday May 16. The new format also coincides with the 1st running of The Inglis Guineas, which already boasts a prize-money pool over $500,000. Inglis Bloodstock director Jonathan D'Arcy commented: "The number & quality of entries for this sale has continued to grow, so we are delighted that we can accommodate more yearlings, which for the majority of vendors is in their local area. We have seen in recent years how this sale has benefited from that strong buying bench & vendors have embraced this influx by offering superior yearlings. After a busy sales season & much time away from home, this sale is a welcome selling alternative for vendors & cost effective."
