Dark Valley Wins Inglis Debutants Stakes

Former Coolmore shuttler & champion 2YO Johannesburg (Hennessy-Myth, by Ogygian) added a juvenile black-type success when his colt Dark Valley (Johannesburg-Musical Chimes, by Select Prince) snatched victory by a short-halfhead in yesterday's $100,000 Listed Inglis Debutants Stakes (1000m) for 2YOs at Caulfield. Dark Valley (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer Darren Weir) defeated the filly Crystal Lilly (Stratum-Crystal Snip, by Snippets) & fellow colt Ebony Rock (Fastnet Rock-Evening Charmer, by Woodman). Dark Valley (originally a $60,000 weanling consigned by Mane Lodge at the 2008 Magic Millions National Sale & subsequently a $105,000 yearling consigned by Oakwood Farm at the 2009 Magic Millions January Gold Coast Sale) earned $60,500 for his 1st-start victory.
