French Govt Passes Law To Increase On-Line Betting

The French National Assembly passed a law to open competition & regulation of on-line gambling (currently limited to state-run gaming operations Francaise des Jeux & Pari-Mutuel Urbain). The French Government's plans to hand out licences by June 2010 "are said to be timed to coincide with the soccer World Cup in South Africa, which begins that month", reported Jour de Galop.
