Hot Cha Cha Wins US Gr1 QEII Stakes

In the US, Hot Cha Cha (Cactus Ridge-Reduced Sentence, by Broad Brush) raced away for a 4.5-lengths victory in the US$500,000 Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (9 furlongs on turf) for 3YO fillies at Keeneland in Kentucky. Hot Cha Cha (ridden by James Graham for trainer Philip Sims) defeated front-running Shared Account (Pleasantly Perfect-Silk N Sapphire, by Smart Strike) & favourite Gozzip Girl (Dynaformer-Temperence Gift, by Kingmambo). Kentucky-bred Hot Cha Cha took her record to 5 wins (also including last start's Gr3 Pucker up Stakes over 9 furlongs at Arlington Park on September 7 & March's Gr3 Bourbonette Oaks over 8 furlongs at Turfway Park) & 3 placings (including July's Gr3 Arlington Oaks over 9 furlongs at Arlington Park, June's Gr3 Regret Stakes over 9 furlongs at Churchill Downs & April's Gr3 Appalachian Stakes over 8 furlongs at Keeneland) from 11 starts for US$585,566 earnings.
