King Cugat Adds US Gr3

Widden Stud shuttler King Cugat (Kingmambo-Tricky Game, by Majestic Light) added a US graded-stakes success when 4YO gelding Mambo Meister (King Cugat-Bleuslittlesecret, by Desert Secret) scored a 3.75-lengths victory in the US$100,000 Gr3 Spend A Buck Handicap (8.5 furlongs) at Calder in Miami in Florida. Mambo Meister (ridden by Manoel Cruz for trainer Philip Gleaves) defeated 4YO entires Motovato (Proud Citizen-Buffalo Bird Woman, by Slew City Slew) & Argentine-bred Pechito (Interprete-La Cosecha, by Octante). Mambo Meister took his record to 7 wins (also including June's Listed Blazing Sword Stakes over 8 furlongs at Calder & May's Listed Big Bubble Stakes over 8.5 furlongs at Calder) & 8 placings (including runner-up in both August's Gr2 Fourstardave Handicap over 8.5 furlongs at Saratoga & April's Gr3 Miami Mile Handicap over 8 furlongs at Calder) from 22 starts for US$298,179 earnings.
