Montjeu Adds UK Black-Type

Monday, 19th October 2009

Dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a UK black-type success when 3YO filly Enticement (Montjeu-Ecoutila, by Rahy) scored by a short-head against older rivals in the £40,000 (A$76,000) Listed Severals Stakes (10 furlongs) for fillies & mares at Newmarket. Enticement (ridden by Jimmy Fortune for trainer Sir Michael Stoute) defeated US-bred 3YO filly Pachattack (Pulpit-El Laoob, by Red Ransom) & another 3YO filly Splashdown (Falbrav-Space Time, by Bering). Enticement was a 310,000 guineas (A$589,000) yearling at the 2007 UK Tattersalls October Sale & overall now has 3 wins (also including 2008's Listed Montrose Fillies Stakes over 8 furlongs at Newmarket) & a placing (in May's Gr3 Musidora Stakes over 10.5 furlongs at York) from 5 starts for £50,301 (A$91,000) earnings.
