5 Aust-Bred Winners In Hong Kong

In Hong Kong last night, 5 Australian-bred gallopers scored at Happy Valley (click on the horse name to watch a video replay of each race):

  • 3YO gelding Just Chill (General Nediym-Raise a Spark, by Raise A cup) won over 1200m for trainer Peter Ng. Just Chill was a $185,000 weanling at the 2007 Magic Millions Winter Sale & subsequently a $230,000 yearling at the 2008 NZ Bloodstock Premier Sale.
  • 6YO gelding Star Of Fame (Quest For Fame-Star Of Danehill, by Danehill) won over 1200m for trainer Tony Millard. Star Of Fame was passed-in as a yearling for $72,500 at the 2005 Magic Millions Premier Sale on the Gold Coast.
  • 7YO gelding Chater de Lago (Encosta de Lago-Cantinela, by Zoffany) won over 1650m for trainer David Ferraris. Chater de Lago was a $105,000 yearling at the 2004 Inglis Melbourne Premier Sale.
  • 4YO gelding El Morro (Brief Truce-Miduki, by Snippets) won over 1200m for trainer Caspar Fownes. El Morro was a $7,000 weanling at the 2006 Inglis Victorian June Sale.
  • 6YO gelding Island Speed (Flying Spur-Katima, by Zeditave) won over 1000m for trainer Peter Ng. Island Speed was a $155,000 yearling consigned from Torryburn Stud at the 2005 Inglis Easter Sale in Sydney.
