Southern Skye Wins Geelong Classic

Gr1-winning Baerami Thoroughbreds sire Danasinga (Danehill-Princess Tracy, by Ahonoora) added a black-type success (& 29th individual stakes-winner) when gelded son Southern Skye (Danasinga-Aurora Australis, by Southern Halo) scored by a neck in yesterday's $100,000 Listed Geelong Classic (2206m) for 3YOs. Southern Skye (ridden by Dan Nikolic for trainer Paul Perry) defeated the colts Our Heir Apparent (Zabeel-La Quinta Gold, by Encosta de Lago) & Rockferry (Pentire-Excelo, by Centro). Southern Skye (passed-in as a yearling for $37,500 at the 2008 Inglis Classic Sale in Sydney) took his record to 3 wins & a placing from 12 starts for $97,980 earnings.
