Montjeu Adds French Black-Type

Friday, 23rd October 2009

In France overnight, dual-Derby winning Coolmore sire & former NZ Windsor Park shuttler Montjeu (Sadler's Wells-Floripedes, by Top Ville) added a black-type success when his colt Telluride (Montjeu-Bayourida, by Slew O Gold) scored a 1.5-lengths victory in the €55,000 (A$88,000) Listed Prix Vulcain (2500m) for 3YOs at Deauville. Telluride (ridden by Christophe Soumillon for trainer John Hammond) defeated Irish-bred fellow colt Agent Secret (Pyrus-Ron's Secret, by Efisio) & the filly Terre Du Vent (Kutub-Philizz, by Kaldoun). Previously this season Telluride also finished runner-up in France’s Gr2 Prix Hocquart (2200m) at Longchamp.
