2nd Stakes-Winner For Europe Freshman Le Vie Dei Colori

Monday, 26th October 2009

Ill-fated Gr1-winning Rathbarry Stud stallion & 1st-crop sire Le Vie Dei Colori (Efisio-Mystic Tempo, by El Gran Senor) recorded his 2nd stakes-winner (& 1st Group-winner) when Irish-bred juvenile colt Carnaby Street (Le Vie Dei Colori-Prodigal Daughter, by Alhaarth) prevailed in a 3-way photo-finish to the £50,000 (A$90,000) Gr3 Horris Hill Stakes (7 furlongs) for 2YO colts & geldings at Newbury. Carnaby Street (ridden by Jimmy Fortune for trainer Richard Hannon) scored by a short-head from Irish-bred gelding Pleasant Day (Noverre-Sunblush, by Timber Country) with a further head to the colt Audacity Of Hope (Red Ransom-Aliena, by Grand Lodge). Carnaby Street was originally a €30,000 (A$48,000) weanling at Ireland's 2007 Goffs November Sale & later a £50,000 (A$90,000) yearling at the 2008 Doncaster August Sale. Overall he now has 2 wins & 2 runners-up from 7 starts for £101,337 (A$182,000) earnings.
