High Chaparral Adds UK Gr3
Also in the UK, NZ Windsor Park's Derby-winning Coolmore shuttler & 6-time Gr1 victor High Chaparral (Sadler's Wells-Kasora, by Darshaan) added a group success when 3YO filly High Heeled (High Chaparral-Unchartered Haven, by Turtle Island) blitzed her older rivals by 6-lengths in the £65,000 (A$117,000) Gr3 St Simon Stakes (12 furlongs) at Newbury. High Heeled (ridden by Michael Hills for trainer Barry Hills) defeated Irish-bred 5YO gelding Tastahil (Singspiel-Luana, by Shaadi) & 3YO colt Harbinger (Dansili-Penang Pearl, by Bering). High Heeled was a €110,000 (A$176,000) yearling at Ireland's 2007 Goffs Millions Sale. Previously this season she also won July's UK Listed EBF Lyric Stakes (10.5 furlongs) at York & overall now has 4 wins & 2 placings (including both this season's Gr1 English Oaks over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs in June & Gr2 Lancashire Oaks over 12 furlongs at Haydock in July) from 12 starts for £138,813 (A$250,000) earnings.
