Lady Lynette Wins Independent Cranes Stakes

Monday, 26th October 2009

Armidale Stud stallion Ladoni (Danehill-Lilac Charm, by Bustino) added a group success when favoured 5YO mare Lady Lynette (Ladoni-Queen's Own, by Coronation Day) notched her 2nd successive stakes-win in less than a fortnight when she gained the judge's verdict in a 3-way photo-finish to the $150,000 Gr3 Independent Cranes Stakes (1600m) for mares 4YOs & up at Moonee Valley. Equal top-weighted Lady Lynette (ridden by Nicholas Hall for trainer Robert Smerdon) scored by a long-head from equal top-weighted fellow 5YO mare Moment In Time (Archway-Concluding, by Kenny's Best Pal) with a further long-head to 8YO mare Pink Shimmer (Brackenbury-Satin Lily, by Bicentenary). Lady Lynette (a $13,000 yearling consigned by Armidale Stud at the 2006 Magic Millions Tasmanian Select Sale) now has 9 wins (also including last start's Listed Carsales.com.au Classic over 1600m at Caulfield on October 14 & February's Listed Vamos Stakes over 1400m at Launceston) & 5 placings from 19 starts for $323,333 earnings.
