UK Tatts HIT Day-1: $247k Redford
In the UK overnight, bloodstock agent Stephen Hillen (acting for prominent owner Dr Marwan Koukash, who boasts over 40 winners so far in 2009) paid top price of 130,000 guineas (A$247,000) for triple-winning 4YO gelded sprinter Redford (Bahri-Ida Lupino, by Statoblest) during the opening session at the 4-day UK Tattersalls Autumn Horses-In-Training Sale in Newmarket. Redford (consigned by Highclere Thoroughbred Racing from Michael Bell's Fitzroy House Stables) is rated 108 by Timeform & Hillen told racingpost.com: "I like the way this horse travels in his races. He'll go for a rest to the National Stud, where Dr Koukash has a few horses out of training & they do a great job, and we'll make a decision about a trainer after Christmas."
