Gr1 Star Bushranger Retired To Tally-Ho In Ireland

In Ireland, multiple Gr1-winning 3YO colt Bushranger (Danetime-Danz Danz, by Efisio) “is returning to the place where he was bred after Tally-Ho Stud in County Westmeath announced he would be joining the stallion team for 2010” reported racingpost.com. As a 2YO in 2008, Bushranger notched 4 wins & 2 placings from 7 starts for the Coolmore-Ballydoyle trio Sue Magnier, Derrick Smith & Michael Tabor, including track records in both the UK Gr1 Shadwell Middle Park Stakes (6 furlongs) at Newmarket & French Gr1 Darley Prix Morny (1200m) at Deauville, plus victory in Ireland’s Gr3 Anglesey Stakes (6 furlongs) at The Curragh & placings in both Ireland’s Gr1 Phoenix Stakes (6 furlongs) at The Curragh & the UK Listed Windsor Castle Stakes (5 furlongs) at Royal Ascot. Only Mastercraftsman “stood between Bushranger & the crown of Europe's best 2YO of 2008 in the World Thoroughbred Rankings published in January: there was 1lb between the pair”. Bushranger was sold for just €15,000 (A$24,000) as a foal at Goffs & retires with 4 wins from 10 starts overall for £339,737 (A$612,000) earnings.
