Wednesday, 28th October 2009

Badgers Bloodstock agent Grant Pritchard-Gordon (acting for Australian buyer Anthony Freedman) paid 210,000 guineas (A$399,000) for 4-time-winning 4YO gelding Fanjura (Marju-Accelerating, by Lear Fan) consigned from trainer Barry Hills’s Faringdon Place Stables. Fanjura (rated 114 by Timeform) finished 3rd in a Goodwood Listed race last month & Pritchard-Gordon confirmed to racingpost.com: “He's going to Lee Freedman in Australia & has been bought for a partnership called the Ball & Chainers. I bought 6 for them last year & they have won 7 races. He'll head out in January & then have a couple of outings in the autumn & hopefully could be running at the Spring Carnival this time next year.”
