US Sire Memo Relocated To Chile

In South America, “long-time California-based sire Memo (Mocito Guapo-Chardona, by Chairman Walker) has been relocated to Haras Mocito Guapo in his native Chile,” reported thoroughbredtimes.com. Memo, now 22, stood the 2009 Northern Hemisphere season at Ridgeley Farm in California; he began his stallion career in 1995 at Ridgeley & stood there for 15 consecutive years. He also shuttled to Chile in 1995 & again in 2001. Memo is the sire of 2001 Chilean champion miler Memo Guapo, Gr1-winner Bordonaro & UAE Gr2 Godolphin Mile winner & sire Grey Memo. On the track, Memo was both champion 2YO colt & champion 3YO colt in Chile, before moving to the US & winning the 1993 Gr2 San Bernardino Handicap, 1994 Gr2 Commonwealth Breeders’ Cup Stakes & 1994 Gr3 Triple Bend Handicap. Overall Memo won 13 of 34 starts & earned US$813,784.
